...traveled back in time.

Well, not literally, of course. We are all time travelers--just in the forward direction, at a rate of one second per second. But "with the 'rona going around", as one of our many VRBO's visitor journal's put it, we did a lot of in-state travel this summer. We found amazing views, and even took a stroll through our childhood.

Tennessee has a plethora of waterfalls. They come in lots of shapes, sizes, and volumes of water.

We climbed a great many of them. But some of them, well, not so much. We do like to live, after all.

So for those, we had to just wade in the freezing water below.

Carson climbed up that rock face. I tried and failed.

We found a bookworm in McMinnville.

We worked on our ninja warrior skills.

I'm pretty sure Shelob lives at the top of that stair.

Who would have imagined that so many beautiful places exist so close to home?

One B&B we stayed at was literally like walking into 1981. There was the exact same rocking chair that we all had back in the day.

And a hifi from the 60's that was a giant piece of furniture in its own right.

While we are definitely looking forward to more traditional vacations that include traveling to interesting destinations, this summer's adventures were great.
